Strange lands in fiction stretch from deep below the earth, to the outer reaches of space. This incredible new collection combines the talents of a new generation of writers with classic and ancient storytellers: from H.G. Wells to Edgar Allan Poe, Daniel Defoe to Jules Verne. Find here too the Land of the Lotus Eaters from Homer’s Odyssey and the mad horrors of H.P. Lovecraft, the utopian fantasies of Samuel Butler and, from Hans Christian Andersen an early fantasy about visiting the moon. ‘Strange Lands’ is fabulous collection of enduring and brand new tales. The Flame Tree Gothic Fantasy, Classic Stories and Epic Tales collections bring together the entire range of myth, folklore and modern short fiction. Highlighting the roots of suspense, supernatural, science fiction and mystery stories the books in Flame Tree Collections series are beautifully presented, perfect as a gift and offer a lifetime of reading pleasure.

The second story is titled “Piano Man,” and is scheduled for appearance in the March 2021 issue of Love Letters to Poe. Sara Crocoll Smith, the publisher and editor-in-chief, initially had concerns about this story, but graciously gave me the opportunity to improve it, for which I am supremely grateful.

Love Letters to Poe is a monthly gothic fiction magazine that will launch in October 2020. Within its pages, you’ll discover a convergence of wonder and terror, romance and horror.
For those who love daring damsels exploring the dark recesses of a haunted manor by candlelight, enjoy a thick fog rolling in on a gloomy hillside under a full moon, and the titillating torment of the sublime, come on in, enjoy a nice cup of tea by the fire, and crack open a lovely little gothic tale.
